Social Media and It’s Affect on SEO

If you are staying updated with the latest developments in SEO then you must be aware of Google social search and its influence on Search Engine Ranking Page. These are displacing the traditional SERP result based on usual SEO tactics. In the latest test of social search influencing the SERP by Rand Fishkin, he noticed the variation in SERP results when logged in and logged out of Google account. This experiment shows that when you are logged in then result is affected by the people in your contact or linked through your Google profile.

It means then when you are logged-in in your Google or Gmail account and search for a particular key-phrase say Dublin Hotels and have a contact in Google profile or Gmail chat list that is connected to any hotel in Dublin than it will be shown up in your search result but it may not be on that position while you search after logging out. These things has influenced the search results and made webmasters to think about the solution as if one continues with the traditional SEO tactics then he might be bumped out of search results for big percentage of logged in users.

The authority of the author also influences the search result as what they tweet or share affects the SERP. You might know that in today’s world of social media you get good and fast response if you share something on facebook or tweet about your latest offers or twitter as compared to posting in on blogs. These results may also affect the SERP depending upon the authority of the author as explained by the representatives of the top search engines like Google and Bing.

So companies providing SEO services are forced to think about their social relationship and the authority of their accounts as how many people are following them and how many they are following. They are now concentrating on increasing the social relationship. Social media has widely affected the SERP and if you don’t want to miss this huge source of traffic then you must think about building your relationship on web.
